Odontology deals with the structure, development and diseases that can affect teeth, with an emphasis on preventing and treating them. Endodontic treatment consists of removing all the contents inside the tooth while removing the microbial flora created by the carious process and sealing the three-dimensional, watertight closure of the dental canals to prevent microbial repopulation of the tooth in question.
